GPFF member Mark Likos is putting on a Foundational  Fly Fishing Course. The objective of the course is to teach the novice to intermediate level fly fishing angler everything they need to know about the sport including: equipment, casting, entomology, knots, safety and water reading. This course will give the participant the confidence and preparedness they need to carry on productively in the art & sport of fly fishing.

This first part of the course will consist of both foundational classroom information with a power point presentation for all categories of instruction and outdoor foundational casting instruction on the grass in the afternoon.

The classroom and casting education will be followed by a weekend outing to the Upper Sacramento River for participating students to utilize their newly learned skills.  Club coaches will be on hand along with Mark to demonstrate, teach and help you ‘on-the-water’.

Mark is relatively new to GPFF, but is an experienced angler and educator, and has previously put on this sort of educational event with great success for other groups.

A minimum of 8 students are needed to hold the event and will be limited to 16.

The cost of the course runs $75.00 for members. Non-members $115.00 (Non-member fee includes a GPFF membership) so this is a great opportunity to get interested friends and family into fly fishing!

You may pay via paypal or bring a check on the day of the event made out to Grizzly Peak Fly Fishers

The fee includes a full-color classroom binder with all study materials in each section. Practice casting leaders & knot tying materials and a knot tying tool (shown how to use in class).  Plus a deli lunch!
