Join us on October 14th, for an evening with Alyssa Evart, a Lake Tahoe based fly fishing guide, angler and advocate for women in the sport.
Born and raised in Orangevale, CA, Alyssa discovered her passion for the outdoors and moved to South Lake Tahoe in 2011. As a child, Alyssa learned to fish from her mom but then began fly fishing in 2015 with her partner, Jess. She started guiding for Tahoe Fly Fishing Outfitters in 2019 and today she is the outfitter’s only female guide and the director of their women’s programs. Alyssa encourages women that are interested in fly fishing or looking to gain confidence in their skills to join her women’s clinics. They offer a safe, welcoming space to learn the reason behind each fly, cast and technique all while making mistakes, laughing and growing together. Alyssa strives to be a strong voice for women in the industry to inspire others to make space in a traditionally male dominated sport.
Come hear about Alyssa’s journey and the experiences that led her into the role she fills today. Alyssa will also include tips and techniques on fly selection, entomology, reading the water and more.
Whether you’re an experienced angler or new to fly fishing, this is an opportunity to learn, connect and build community amongst fellow outdoor enthusiasts.
